Friends of Longparish School (FoLS)
christmas countdown with fols 2025.pdf
Friends of Longparish School is the name of our Parent Teacher Association, fondly
referred to as FoLS. Anyone with an interest in the school is a Friend of FoLS (FoFoLS) and
our children benefit a lot from their support.
At the heart of FoLS is a committee, elected at an autumn AGM by the parents present. The
Committee meet together on a regular basis to suggest fundraising ideas and help
organise events. New members are always welcome; non-members are encouraged to get
involved.
This year, FoLS have raised considerable funds for learning experiences and resources to
support learning in the classroom. In 2024/2025 we have managed to raise the funds to
provide plants around the River House, a Circus Skills Workshop as a Christmas Party, T-
Bar Lights for school productions, Netball posts, creative writing sessions for Chaffinch
Class, Duck eggs and Incubator for Robins Class, provision of a wooden arbour for Herons
outdoor space, baking supplies for Kingfishers class, hard hats and hi-vis jackets for
outdoor play, an LCD Writing Tablet for SEN learning, and maths resources for use across
the school. It is such a joy to see fundraising efforts converted into such great resources
and experiences for the children across the school.
How you can help...
Fundraising events
Every year FoLS organise and run events to raise money for the school. Activities such as
the Christmas Bazaar, Longparish Run, Summer Fayre, Frozen Fridays, Break the Rules
Day and School Uniform sales all help to raise important funds and provide amazing
opportunities for our school community to have lots of fun together.
These are great opportunities to get together and create lasting memories for our children
whilst raising funds for the school. Please get involved in the events whenever you can.
Put dates in your diary, invite others to come along and never be shy to volunteer to help.
It will always be appreciated!
Donation box
There is a permanent donation box in reception, where you can drop off items to pass
along to FOLS including:
- Second-hand school uniform – we particularly need larger sizes
- Donations for the events
- There is also a secure post box on the wall
100+ Club
The 100+ Club is a type of private lottery. You buy numbered tickets that get entered into a
monthly draw. When the tickets are drawn, a percentage of the profit is given as the prize,
with the remainder going to FoLS. Please contact a Committee member to enrol.
