Computing

At Longparish C.E Primary School we believe that Computing is an essential part of the national curriculum. Computing is an integral part of modern society and therefore provides a wealth of learning opportunities, explicitly within computing and also across other curriculum subjects. Through the study of computing, children are able to develop a wide range of fundamental skills, knowledge and understanding that they will need for the rest of their lives.

‚ÄčThe new Computing curriculum aims to ensure that all pupils can understanding and apply the most important principles and concepts of computer science. An integral aspect of computing is computer science, in which pupils are taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work and how to put this knowledge to use through programming. Building on this knowledge and understanding, pupils are equipped to use information technology to create programs, systems and a range of content. Computing also ensures that pupils become digitally literate. Children are able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology and as active participants in a digital world.
