Friends of Longparish School is the name of our Parent Teacher Association, fondly referred to as FoLS. Anyone with an interest in the school is a ‘friend’ and our children benefit a lot from their support.
At the heart of FoLS is a committee, elected at an autumn AGM by the parents present. There is a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer and other members who suggest fundraising ideas and help organise events. New members are always welcome; non-members are encouraged to get involved.
This year, FolS have raised considerable funds for learning experiences and resources to support learning in the classroom and to support our wider community work.
How you can help
Every year FoLS organise and run events to raise money for the school. The May Fayre is the biggest fundraiser, but other activities such as quiz nights, film afternoons, school discos and a summer BBQ and camp-out all make a difference too.
These are great opportunities to get together and create lasting memories for our children whilst raising funds for the school.
Please get involved in the events whenever you can. Put dates in your diary, invite others to come along and never be shy to volunteer to help. It will always be appreciated!
There is a permanent donation box in reception, where you can drop off items to pass along to FOLS including:
- Second-hand school uniform – we particularly need larger sizes.
- Donations for the May Fayre
- There is also a secure post box on the wall
The 100+ Club is a type of private lottery. You buy numbered tickets that get entered into a monthly draw. When the tickets are drawn, a percentage of the profit is given as the prize, with the remainder going to FoLS. Please contact a Committee member to enrol.

Secondhand School Uniform
Secondhand school uniform is available from Friends of Longparish School. We hold regular sales, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request items. We welcome donations of uniform, which can be placed in the FoLS donation box in school reception.
Thanks to a grant from Hampshire County Council we are able to expand our Pre-Loved Uniform sales in 2022. We are delighted to say we have received £100 from HCC’s Waste Prevention Community Grant Fund. This has allowed us to purchase shelves, storage boxes and a hanging rail.
We can now offer more frequent sales and stock more items. As well as the usual school jumpers, we now have storage space for donations of coats, wellies, waterproofs, sports day t-shirts and bags – in fact, anything that you use at school.
Each item of uniform that is passed to a new home is one less in landfill - helping the environment and saving you money.
Order labels from My Name Tags and we receive a donation for every order. Visit mynametags.com and use school code 22416.
